Information, Finance & Transport

1.  How do I purchase a horse from Minis Out West?

Answer: Pick out the horse or horses that you want to purchase, then either call Angela (719-942-5515), or Email us here at the
barn and let us know which horses you want to buy.

2. What methods of payment do you accept?

Answer: We accept cash, a Cashiers Check, Money Order, bank wire, most credit cards (with a 5% charge) thru PayPal.  No
personal Checks * (unless we have 15 working days for the check to clear the bank BEFORE the horse leaves the Ranch).

3. How much time do I have to pick my horse up from the Ranch once I have paid for him?

Answer: We realize it takes time to set up shipment with the Transport Companies so we allow 2 weeks of FREE BOARD starting
the day we receive the funds for your horse.  After that we do charge a daily board fee.  (fee varies depending on the care the
horse requires)

4. Do you accept payments?

Answer: Normally we do not finance our horses.  If you purchase a horse , we ask that you put 1/3 of the purchase price as a non
refundable down payment, and we recommend that you have full mortality insurance to cover your investment.   We would
strongly  recommend obtaining the financing from your bank to pay for the horses.

5.  Do you recommend we have a veterinarian look at the horse before we purchase it?

Answer:  YES! We are all for "Pre Purchase exams".  There are several vets in the area that can come out to the Ranch *(at the
expense of the BUYER) and do the exam.    At the bottom of the page we will list several vets.

6. What do you feed the M.O.W. horses?

Answer: We feed a simple feed, mainly consisting of 3 cups steamed/rolled oats, 4 cups wet beet pulp, 1/4 cup Natures Essentials
32, 4-6 oz alfalfa cubes and handful of alfalfa hay - two times a day.   Miniatures do well on many different brands of feed.  You can
check with your feed store and  veterinarian to see what they recommend for your area.

7. Has our horse has his shots?  Been wormed? Has he been seen by a farrier?

Answer: Your "M.O.W. Miniature" is current on vaccinations, we have all of our horses on a vaccination recommended by our vet.

Including: Encephalomyelitis, Tetanus Toxoid, Influenza, Rhinopneumonitis, West Nile (* Strangle Vac. are not normally given
unless there are out breaks in the area).

Our horses are wormed on a rotation schedule with Fenbendazole(SafeGuard), Pyrantel Pamoate(Strongid) and Ivermectin.    We
worm our horses every 8 weeks.
